An electric chafing dish must fit the buffet site as well as the menu. Before approval, match the unitβs nameplate, plug, controls, cable route, and cleaning method to the intended installation; do not assume one electrical version suits every market.
Check the Installation Interface
| Item | Verify |
|---|---|
| Nameplate | Site supply and project requirement |
| Cable | Route away from traffic and hot parts |
| Controls | Visible, reachable, and clearly marked |
Separate Cleaning from Electrical Parts
Identify which pans and covers are removable and which sections must stay dry. Staff should be able to disassemble approved parts without pulling the cable or exposing a connector to wash water.
Create an Installation Record
Record the exact electrical version, plug, cable length, control layout, removable parts, and cleaning limits from confirmed documentation. Approve the chafer only after the site, unit, and operating procedure have been checked as one system.
